People on the move
Reinsurance is the buzzword this time of the year. With the SIRC being yet another record breaker, the momentum is building up. In this spread, we bring you insights into the special roundtable Asia Insurance Review hosted with market leaders with a candid view on the key changes in the market where many felt demanded more than "business as usual" responses. We also bring you the wider global Monte Carlo perspective on the market.
Asia Insurance Review organised a Reinsurance Roundtable with some 12 reinsurers and brokers to get the pulse of how Asia was faring in the global reinsurance scene. The discussions candid and sometimes even bantering had a good grip on the mood of the day - with some feeling the industry was at the point of inflection while others thought it was still business as usual though some key factors had changed. But they were clearly optimistic, ready to innovate and actually adapting to changes. Asia is holding its own nicely though not quite leading the global market yet in reinsurance.
