Think Tank - The Geneva Association: Solving The Pensions Puzzle
Source: Asia Insurance Review | Aug 2006
Reforming pensions
is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. All OECD countries have
to adjust to the ageing of their populations and re-balance retirement income
provision in order to keep it adequate and ensure that the system is financially
sustainable. In this extract from the European Papers published by The Risk
Institute, Ms Monika Queisser, Director of the Division of Social Policies,
OECD, Paris, and Mr Edward Whitehouse, Director of Research on Work and
Social Affairs, OECD, Paris, examine if there is such a thing as a perfect pension
system, and how the OECD is helping governments with research in this field.
