Victory Salute to Australia's Best!

It was certainly a Star Event for the insurance industry when the movers and shakers gathered to salute the industry’s best achievers for the year.
Organised by The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), in partnership with Asia Insurance Review (AIR), the Australia Insurance Industry Awards was into its 13th year.
Many new faces are among the winners this year. They include Queensland brokerage Austbrokers Coast to Coast, which took the Small Broking Company of the Year award; Adroit Insurance Group which won Medium Broking Company of the Year; PetSure (Australia) Pty Ltd for Underwriting Agency of the Year; NRMA Insurance for Direct General Insurance Company of the Year; AMP for Life Insurance Company of the Year and Barry.Nilsson., which was recognised as Professional Services Firm of the Year.
Ms Prue Willsford, ANZIIF CEO, said: “It is wonderful to see so many first-time winners at the Awards as well as the recognition of industry stalwarts, which reflects the breadth and depth of achievement in Australian insurance. What is clear from our winners, and indeed the many finalists and other submissions at this year’s Awards, is that the industry is increasingly focused on evolution and adapting to meet the changing needs of customers. This is integral to our growth and success, and so it was very pleasing to see this focus evident in many of the submissions.”
Mr Sivam Subramaniam, Editor-in-Chief of AIR, said the Awards recognised outstanding achievement in what was this year a challenging environment.
He said: “With disruptive innovation being the order of the day, the submissions were remarkably outstanding and showed that the industry was not just keeping up but setting new trends too. It is indeed a true privilege to recognise the outstanding winners from this year’s Awards. They so richly deserve our wholehearted commendations.”
Notable among the Award winners is Mr John Trowbridge, who led a review of life insurance in Australia. He received the ANZIIF Lifetime Achievement Award.
