Competition is intense. The industry has 46 life insurers and 19 composite insurers to serve the needs of a seven million population. Despite this, optimism fills the air on the back of last year’s strong performance. As one player describes it, Hong Kong is in the “perfect geo-political position” to ride on China’s growing dominance.
