Foreign reinsurers are expected to enter India following the passing of the insurance amendment Bill last Thursday that allows them to set up branches in the country. In the meantime, Lloyd's - the world's specialist insurance and reinsurance market - has initiated talks with the Indian insurance regulator over starting operations in India through a branch.
