The Board of the Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI) has elected Mr Kent Griffin, CEO and managing director of MLC Life Insurance as co-chair. Ms Fiona Macgregor, CEO and managing director of TAL Group, Mr Nicolas Carro, CEO of Munich Re Australasia Life and Mr Anton Kapel, chief executive of life and solutions of Challenger have also been elected as board directors.
Mr Griffin has more than 30 years of experience in financial services. He takes over from Mr Brett Clark and shares his role with Mr Damien Mu, CEO and managing director of AIA Australia.
Mr Tyson Johnston, managing director of protection, APAC and global strategy of Pacific Life Re, also retired from his role on the CALI Board.
With these new appointments, there are a total of 10 directors on the CALI Board.
