Bangladesh: Regulator spells out when CEO title may be used in insurers

The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) has barred the use of the CEO title in any insurance company without its prior approval.
In a notice issued on 6 March 2025, the IDRA also stated that until the proposal for the appointment of the CEO is approved, an additional managing director may be given the responsibility of the CEO in accordance with the relevant provisions and such responsible officer may use the title “CEO (Acting)”.
In addition, no officer below the rank of CEO or CEO (Acting) shall be able to sign letters addressed to the IDRA. A
