Singapore:Insurer helps retrenched telco customers

| 09 May 2023

Amid high profile retrenchments in recent months, insurer Etiqa and Singapore telco Singtel has just launched a product to help those out of work pay their telephone and internet bills. The product, Singtel Bill Protect, covers customers of the telco company who become retrenched and will waive mobile and fixed broadband bills for a maximum of six months, up to a total of S$600 ($452). The plan also covers accidental death. It comes under a telco assurance partnership between the insurer and Singtel and will be provided to customers free in the first year.
