Manulife Asia has appointed Mrs Adrienne O'Neill as Asia CFO; Mr Benoit Meslet as CEO of Singapore, effective 1 June 2025 and pending regulatory approval; Dr Khoo Kah Siang as CEO of emerging markets; Ms Lauren Sulistiawati as CEO of Indonesia, effective 24 February 2025 and pending regulatory approval; Mr Phil Witherington as president and CEO of Manulife, effective 9 May 2025 and Mr Ryan Charland as CEO of Japan, effective 1 May 2025.
Mrs O’Neill is presently global controller and group chief accounting officer. She has been with Manulife for over 17 years.
Mr Meslet brings over 20 years of experience. He joined Manulife in 2020 and is presently CEO of Japan. Prior to 2020, he worked with companies including BNP Paribas Cardiff and ING.
In his new role, Dr Khoo will oversee Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines. He brings extensive experience and has served as past president of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore. He will continue to serve as CEO of Singapore until he hands over the role to Mr Meslet. He joined Manulife in 2018. Prior to 2020, he worked with companies including Great Eastern and NMG Consulting.
Ms Sulistiawati joins Manulife from Commonwealth Bank. Prior to her new role, she also worked with companies including Citi and PermataBank.
Members of the Manulife Asia Senior Leadership Team will report to Mr. Witherington until his successor is announced.
Mr Charland has over 20 years of experience. He began his career in 2003 with Manulife. In his new role, he will drive continued growth in Manulife Japan.

Mr Michael Thomssen, CFO, and Mr Sachin Shah, head of emerging markets, will be leaving Manulife.
