More than 80% of Indians underestimate their life cover needs

More than eight in 10 Indians think that a life cover of less than 10 times their annual income is adequate for financial security. The actual coverage held by Indians is just 3.1 times their income, significantly below the industry-recommended 10x benchmark, according to a comprehensive study titled "Underinsurance Survey 2025".
