The Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) has organised an inter-university insurance quiz competition, through which it will promote insurance education and financial literacy among the youth of the country.
The regulator through this quiz is keen to enhance insurance awareness and financial literacy among undergraduates while fostering greater engagement between the university community, the insurance industry, and the regulator.
InsureChamp 2026 aims to provide a national platform for undergraduates to demonstrate their knowledge, develop teamwork and analytical skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of insurance in promoting financial security, risk awareness, and national resilience.
The competition also seeks to strengthen the role of the IRCSL as a knowledge partner within the academic community.
The competition is scheduled to be held on 25 November 2026, at the BMICH, Colombo 07, and the live on-stage competition is expected to be conducted from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
As of today, 20 universities and higher education institutions have confirmed their participation, reflecting a highly encouraging response from the academic community across the country. The participating institutions include state universities, degree-awarding institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and other government universities and institutes established under Acts of Parliament of Sri Lanka.
