Cambodia's insurance industry total gross premium was up 7% in April 2025 to reach $27m in April 2025 in comparison to the same period last year.
According to the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC), life insurers recorded a growth of 9.83% to $16.33m, while general insurers grew at 2.07%to $10.93m during the same period.
The total claims paid stood at $8.18m, up 56% from $5.21m recorded in the same period last year. Endowment policies accounted for the largest share of life insurance sales at 73%, followed by term life. Property insurance was the leader in the general insurance industry, followed by medical and auto insurance with market share of 33% and 18% respectively.
There are currently 18 general insurers, 14 life insurers, seven micro-insurers and a single reinsurer in the Cambodia insurance market.
