The Thai insurance regulator will associate with Life Insurance Association and Association of Life Insurance Agents and Financial Advisors to promote the knowledge and understanding of life insurance to the public, according to a media release by The Thai Life Assurance Association.
The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) Deputy Secretary General for Intermediary Supervision and Regional Insurance Ms Vasumdee Wasinont in a meeting with Mrs Natchakorn Suwansatit Executive Director and the Executive Board of the Association and Mrs Prapaporn Sitsit, President of the Association of Life Insurance Agents and Financial Advisors considered a proposal to formulate guidelines for communication, public relations and promote knowledge and understanding of life insurance to the public.
The meeting held on 3 August 2026 discussed the aims to develop public relations communication guidelines to accelerate the creation of accurate knowledge and understanding of insurance for the public, especially information about life insurance.
The focus will be on how to choose a policy that suits the customers’ needs and purchasing power. So that the policy can meet the needs of life planning and provide protection according to the objectives.
During the meeting the role of life insurance agents was also discussed. The focus was on their role as a mentor and to help the public understand the product before making a decision.
The committee members emphasised that the agents should study the needs of the customer, offer them the right insurance plan, explain the essence of the policy in a complete and easy-to-understand manner, as well as provide continuous service and care to the insured throughout the policy term.
