Halliwell has further strengthened its presence in APAC with the acquisition of Maynard Marks, one of New Zealand's leading property and building consultancies.
The addition of Maynard Marks expands Halliwell APAC’s existing suite of specialist services, supporting (re)insurers, brokers, legal firms, property owners and public sector organisations with risk determination through loss investigation, remediation, project delivery and litigation support.
Maynard Marks brings a team of more than 60 specialists across the country, including Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, delivering a multidisciplinary combination of building surveying, structural engineering, architectural design, quantity surveying, project management, environmental and asbestos consulting services.
The firm has established a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to commercial and residential property owners, insurers, councils, government agencies, infrastructure developers and contractors throughout New Zealand.
Maynard Marks’ expertise spans the full building lifecycle, from new developments and redevelopments through to remediation, risk mitigation, building disputes, insurance assessment and the preservation of heritage buildings. The business combines deep technical expertise with a client-focussed approach to help organisations understand, manage and resolve complex property and building-related risks.
Following the acquisition, Maynard Marks will continue to operate under the co-branded identity Maynard Marks, A Halliwell Company, led by current directors Stuart Wilson, Mark Powell, John Rennie and Daniel Kennett, with a view to transitioning fully to the Halliwell brand in due course.
The addition of Maynard Marks expands Halliwell’s presence in New Zealand and further strengthens the group’s capabilities across building surveying, structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management and general property consultancy.
“Joining Halliwell represents an exciting next chapter for our team, providing access to broader regional resources and technical expertise while creating new opportunities for our people and clients,” said Maynard Marks Director Stuart Wilson.
Halliwell APAC Managing Director Colin Taylor said, “The acquisition and partnership with Maynard Marks is a highly complementary addition to our growing multidisciplinary offering in APAC.
“Their strong reputation, depth of technical expertise and market-leading capabilities across the property and building sectors significantly strengthen our presence in New Zealand and enhance the services we can provide to clients throughout the region.”
