At its 51st Annual General Meeting, the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) elected Mr Ben Ng, CEO of AIA, as president and Ms Vibha Coburn, CEO of Manulife Insurance, as vice president.
Mr Ng brings over 30 years of experience. He was appointed CEO of AIA in 2019 and is among the few Asian actuaries who hold both Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) qualifications.
Ms Coburn has over 30 years of experience. She joined Manulife in 2020 as group CEO and executive director of Manulife Holdings and CEO and executive director of Manulife Insurance.
LIAM also welcomed two new management committee members for the term 2025/2026, Ms Leong Su Yern, CEO of Etiqa Life Insurance and Ms Pauline Teoh, CEO of Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia.
LIAM is also supported by five other committee members, namely YBhg Dato Koh Yaw Hui, CEO of Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia); Ms Loh Guat Lan, CEO of Hong Leong Assurance Berhad; Mr Patrick Cheah Gim Guan, CEO of Malaysian Life Reinsurance Group; Mr Lim Eng Seong, CEO of Prudential Assurance Malaysia and Mr Toi See Jong, CEO of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia.
Mr Ng succeeds Mr Raymond Lew, the immediate past president of LIAM, who served as LIAM president and vice president for more than five years.
