Swiss Re has appointed Mr Stephen Abrokwah as the new head of life and health (L&H), Japan, effective 1 October 2025 and subject to the necessary approvals. He will transition into his new role starting in the month of September.
Mr Abrokwah brings close to two decades of experience. He first joined Swiss Re in 2013 as a marketing actuary. He moves into his new role from Swiss Re’s US L&H business, where he most recently served as a key account manager for US clients and several strategic global asset intensive business partners.
Mr Abrokwah is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst and also holds a doctorate in applied economics. He serves as president and board chair of the International Association of Black Actuaries, where he champions inclusion across the broader risk management industry.
In line with this transition, Mr Kenichi Kasai has been appointed head of L&H client markets Japan for the interim period.
