P&C (re)insurer Canopius Group has appointed Mr Tesh Patel as Head of Distribution for Australia and New Zealand, effective 6 January 2026, according to a press release from the firm.
Mr Patel brings over 20 years of experience in insurance, portfolio management and distribution strategy across Australia, Asia and the UK. His most recent role was managing director at Delta Insurance Australia, where he established and grew the business from the ground up, opening offices in Sydney and Brisbane. Prior to this, Mr Patel held senior positions at Allianz and IAG, managing portfolios of over $1bn.
In his new role, Mr Patel will lead Canopius’ distribution strategy across ANZ, focusing on strengthening relationships with business partners, expanding market presence, and delivering innovative solutions to clients. He will be based in Sydney and will report to Head of Distribution and Marine, APAC & MENA Paul Hackett and Country Head of Australia and Pacific and Head of Insurance APAC Andrew Ziolkowski.
