AXA to re-domicile to Hong Kong in strategic shift

| 27 Jan 2026

AXA Hong Kong and Macau have announced plans to re-domicile AXA China Region Insurance Company (Bermuda) (ACRIB) from Bermuda to Hong Kong, under the corporate re-domiciliation regime introduced by the Hong Kong government, subject to regulatory approval.

The re-domiciliation will not affect ACRIB’s legal entity status, organisational structure or day-to-day operations. Existing rights and obligations of policyholders, distributors and business partners will remain unchanged, and all current agreements and commitments will continue. Upon completion, ACRIB is expected to be renamed AXA China Region Insurance Company (Hong Kong).

AXA said the move aligns the company’s place of registration with its operational base in Hong Kong and reflects its intention to continue operating under Hong Kong’s regulatory framework.

This move is not merely administrative; it is a significant step forward in deepening our roots in Hong Kong and simplifying our reporting and compliance processes. I firmly believe it will provide strategic advantages that position us for long-term success in one of the world’s most vibrant markets,” AXA CEO Greater China Sally Wan said.
