The pay-out of Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) in the Philippines reached PHP41.23bn ($711m) in total benefits and claims in the first half of 2026, marking a 13.62% increase from PHP36.29bn in the same period last year. This, according to Manila's Insurance Commission (IC), reflects increased utilisation of healthcare services. Data from the IC also show that despite the higher payouts, the HMO industry maintained a strong financial position, supported by rising revenues and membership fee collections.
