Australia:Lockton opens its first Adelaide office

| 18 Jul 2024

Lockton, the world's largest privately-owned insurance brokerage, has expanded its Australian footprint and opened an Adelaide office.

As companies around the world consider downsizing or shutting down operations, Lockton is opening in locations like Adelaide.

Mr Paul Marsden, Lockton Pacific CEO, said, “This is evidence of our commitment to local growth and elevated service for our clients across all regions.”

He added, “Our office in Adelaide marks the inception of our South Australia growth strategy which bolsters our existing workers’ compensation claims and injury management consulting expertise in the region. This is just chapter one of our recruitment drive and we’ll continue to invest in talented people who share our client-first values.”

Lockton also announced the appointment of two client directors, Mr Matthew Linke and Mr Andrew Thornton, who have more than five decades of collective experience in insurance and risk across a wide range of industries in South Australia, including agribusiness, aged care, community services, faith, food & beverage, forestry, manufacturing, and transportation. They report to Mr Ian Maybury, general manager, Industry Specialties.

Mr Marsden said the appointment of Mr Linke and Mr Thornton responds to a critical need for specialised expertise in the region, particularly as the local market shifts in favour of insurance buyers following an influx of insurer capital.

On its website, Lockton indicates that it also has offices in Australian cities like Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.

Lockton's private ownership empowers its 11,700+ associates doing business in over 140 countries to focus on clients' risk, insurance and people needs.
