Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) deputy secretary-general for legal affairs and inspection Adisorn Pipatvorapong held an online meeting with private insurance industry organisations to explore ways to expedite inspections and provide official documentation of liability to affected individuals.
The OIC has requested private insurers to submit information on compensation payment assessments, allowing the regulator to monitor and verify accuracy, strengthen public trust in the insurance system as a risk management tool and ensure fair access to insurance benefits.
Currently, the OIC has set up insurance assistance centres at OIC offices nationwide and provides the OIC hotline 1186 to facilitate providing information, providing initial consultation, or checking insurance policies from those entitled to receive information 24 hours a day.
