Zurich Malaysia and Kenanga Investment Bank (Kenanga Group) have entered into a strategic partnership to expand the delivery of insurance and takaful solutions across general insurance, life insurance, and family takaful.
The collaboration, announced in a 29 January press release, will leverage Kenanga Group’s advisory-led and digital distribution channels. The companies said the tie-up builds on their existing relationship, following earlier joint initiatives in the takaful and investment space.
Through the partnership, Zurich Malaysia aims to enhance access to relevant and connected protection solutions, while Kenanga Group, which is an independent Malaysian financial services group, seeks to provide more comprehensive financial planning experiences for clients across different life stages. The collaboration was formalised at an event attended by senior leaders from both organisations.
Under the arrangement, a comprehensive group takaful scheme underwritten by Zurich Malaysia will be offered exclusively to clients of Kenanga Investors, the asset and wealth management arm of Kenanga Group. Financial adviser representatives of Kenanga Investors will also be able to offer a wider range of Zurich Malaysia’s insurance and takaful solutions, aligning protection recommendations with clients’ goals, risk profiles, and life stages.
The partnership will also see the closer integration of Zurich Malaysia’s protection capabilities with Kenanga Group’s investment strategies, including the planned integration of OnePRS (a voluntary private-sector retirement savings scheme) by Kenanga into Zurich Malaysia’s product propositions. In addition, Zurich Malaysia’s solutions will be made available through Kenanga Group’s digital platforms, providing clients with simplified access to protection alongside their investment journey.
Looking ahead, both parties plan to develop more contextual protection offerings linked to key life events and financial milestones. By deepening the integration of investment, advisory, and protection capabilities, Zurich Malaysia and Kenanga Group aim to deliver more accessible, personalised, and relevant financial solutions to support clients throughout their financial journeys.
