Descartes Underwriting, a provider of parametric (re)insurance solutions for climate, cyber and emerging risks, has appointed Mr Jean Hermelin as Chief Strategy Officer. He will also join the Executive Committee.
In this newly created role, Mr Hermelin will lead the firm’s strategy definition and oversee its implementation, with a focus on identifying new growth levers and contributing to the improvement of operational and sales efficiency. Part of his remit includes realising the company’s ambitions of maintaining growth and innovation.
He brings over 12 years of experience in strategy consulting at Oliver Wyman, where he led transformation and commercial effectiveness programs for international insurance companies. Mr Hermelin’s cross-functional expertise ranges from business development and partnership negotiation to operational excellence.
