Fifteen members of the collaborative UNDP-FAO Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag) Programme from Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam were involved in a recent peer-to-peer exchange to discuss how proper application of climate information and applied research could inform better decision making and reduce loss.
The members were aided by experts from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and participants from other development partners, including GIZ, APEC Climate Center, and the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research.
Agriculture infrastructure
These collaborative efforts have been the main drivers for improved agriculture infrastructure in developing Asian nations, who produce most of the food supply for the region.
Similar developments, and more, will be discussed at the 4th Agriculture Insurance Conference hosted by Asia Insurance Review. Agriculture experts from the insurance industry will share their insights on how insurance has helped improve resilience and protect farmers in Asia, and the innovative methods they are planning to implement in the future.
