Listed Chinese property insurance company PICC Property and Casualty has hit the headlines, with its President reported to be missing and suspected to be under investigation by authorities.
Mr Yu Ze is also the Party Secretary of PICC P&C, as well as a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of PICC Group, according to local media outlets.
Mr Yu was still in the office last Friday, though news that authorities had come to take him away spread across the company the following day.
He joined the PICC group in 1994 and became PICC P&C’s President in 2023. He graduated from Nankai University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
PICC Property & Casualty Insurance is the largest property and casualty insurance company in mainland China. Headquartered in Beijing, it is the flagship business of PICC Group.
