Australia:Climate change increases heatwave mortality, putting cities at enhanced risk

Human induced climate change has been found to increase the risk of heat related deaths by 20%, according to a new study by University of Queensland (UQ). Another study by the university has revealed that people living in cities are at a higher risk of dying from heatwaves than those living in the regional areas. The two studies examined the mortality burden of heatwaves in Australia.
