Brunei's insurance regulator, the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), has published the Business Sentiment Index (BSI) for February 2025. The index is based on surveys conducted on around 500 micro, small, medium and large businesses from 11 economic sectors in Brunei Darussalam, across all districts. Finance and insurance is one of these economic sectors.
The monthly index is designed to measure the level of business confidence/sentiment in the country covering various aspects including current and future business conditions, investment, employment of workers, as well as costs of running the businesses.

In February 2025, the BSI value of insurance was 50.0, alongside sectors such as real estate and ownership of dwellings (50.0) and manufacturing (50.0). This means that recorded sentiments were similar as compared to the previous month.
On the other hand, construction (49.8), health and education (49.5) and transport and communication (49.2) registered BSI values of below 50, meaning that there was less optimism.
