The non-life insurance industry net premiums written (NPW) in the Philippines has risen 20.48% to PHP39.63bn ($69.18m) in 1H2025 as compared to figures from the same period in 2024, according to the Insurance Commission (IC), the country's regulator.
Along with the increase in total NPW, total claims paid out by non-life insurance companies rose by 32.67% in 1H2025 as well, amounting to PHP15.69bn.

“As in previous reporting periods, the motor car business remained the leading contributor, accounting for 40.52% of total NPW,” said the IC.
“It registered a 16.2% increase, equivalent to PHP2.24bn, growing from PHP13.82bn to PHP16.06bn.”
